Welcome to our online shop, “Shiki Oriori.”

The name “Shiki Oriori” means “to enjoy each season.” In Japan, the four seasons are distinct and beautiful, and over time, a rich culture has developed around enjoying seasonal food, clothing, and daily life. Along with this, a wide variety of ingredients, food traditions, tableware, and everyday tools have been carefully crafted.

At our shop, we offer unique and high-quality handcrafted pottery and porcelain, as well as glassware and wooden items made by Japanese artisans. We hope to share these beautiful pieces with you from Japan.

■ Delivery

Some countries and regions are available for direct online purchase.

If your location does not appear at checkout, please feel free to contact us by email at info@shikioriori-store.jp. We would be very happy to arrange shipping for you.

We mainly ship by EMS (Express Mail Service). However, all shipments to USA or depending on your location, will be sent via UPS if it is deemed more suitable.

Shipping fees are calculated based on the total weight and destination. Please note that the total weight includes not only the product itself, but also packaging materials and the carton box needed to safely protect your items during long-distance shipping. Typically, an additional 1–2 kg is added to the product weight.

Therefore, even if you purchase only one item, a certain level of shipping cost will apply. However, the cost per item becomes more economical when purchasing multiple items. Shipping fees are calculated automatically at checkout.

Please note:

  • Cash on Delivery (COD) and Paidy are not available.
  • For remote areas or islands where additional delivery charges may apply, or if your order requires multiple packages, we may contact you to adjust the shipping fee.
  • It is not possible to specify a delivery date and time for international shipments.
  • Free shipping within Japan does not apply to international orders.

■ Shipments to the USA

Under a presidential order announced by the U.S. government on July 30, 2025, the de minimis exemption for imported goods sent via international mail has been suspended as of August 29, 2025. As a result, duties may be imposed even on items below a certain value. As a result, duties may be imposed on shipments except for documents and personal gifts valued at USD 100 or less sent between individuals.

Due to these changes, shipments to USA may currently take longer than usual.

Any customs duties, taxes, or additional fees must be paid by the recipient.

In some cases, registration and declaration procedures with the FDA (U.S. Food and Drug Administration) may be required. Any related arrangements and payments must also be handled by the recipient.

Before shipment, we will send you an email to confirm your understanding of these conditions and to ensure we can contact you. We would appreciate it if you could kindly reply to confirm your acceptance.

■ Using a Forwarding / Shipping Company

If you use a forwarding company or a contact person in Japan, please select “Use Forwarding Company to Overseas” at checkout and enter the address provided by your forwarding service.

We will pack your items with extra care and cushioning to help them withstand international transit. The domestic delivery fee to the forwarding address is JPY 1,500.

Please note that we cannot take responsibility for any damage or loss after the package has been delivered to your forwarding company or contact in Japan.

  • Please check all fees and conditions directly with your forwarding company.
  • Please ask your forwarding company to inspect the package upon arrival. If there are any issues such as missing or damaged items, please contact us within 72 hours of delivery to the forwarding address, before the package is forwarded overseas.

■ Import Duties & Taxes

All import duties, taxes, and any additional local charges are the responsibility of the recipient.

■ Refunds & Returns

As our products are handmade, each piece is unique in shape, color, and detail. The images on the product pages are for reference only.

For this reason, we generally do not accept returns or refunds after shipment.

However, in the case of damage or loss during shipping, coverage may be provided by EMS or the courier service (for direct international shipments). If your package arrives damaged, please contact us within 72 hours of delivery. Please keep all damaged items, packaging materials, and boxes for inspection.

Wholesale inquiries from overseas retailers are welcome, and discounts are available for bulk orders.
