Add your favorite items to your daily life - Inahoya Koubou -

The comfortable feeling when you touch and hold it in your hand. The tableware of Inahoya Koubou is based on simplicity and sprinkled with the essence of cuteness. We talked to her about the production process.

"It's almost strange that I'm making pottery now."

This was his answer when asked why he wanted to become a potter.

Yoshida-san attended an art university in Nagoya and studied design, but to be honest, she was not good at making three-dimensional objects and did not think about becoming a ceramic artist. However, Yoshida-san happened to take a required subject in university and had a lot of fun in the class where she made three-dimensional objects with clay! That was his first encounter with ceramics, and now he makes ceramics every day in Shigaraki, Shiga as "Hoya Kobo".

From the beginning of production, we have been conscious of "ease of use" above all else. We also thought about washing and storage when we created it. While keeping to that base, we added a playful touch.

She also place emphasis on ease of use when it comes to shapes and patterns, and try to make sure that the size and type are in line with the trends of the time.

"But since it's something I make with my own hands, I think it ends up taking on a shape that I like," says Yoshida -san.

You'll notice the works of Inahoya Koubou, quietly there. These timeless pieces are like comforting companions that are always by your side.
