Adachino Pottery

In Toki City, Gifu Prefecture, she creates "Stoneware," a type of tableware made from yellow clay covered with decorative clay and featuring elegant decorations. Stoneware has been made in the Mino region since the early Showa period, but production gradually ceased as society demanded greater production efficiency. After a hiatus of about 30 years, the merits of handmade craftsmanship have been rediscovered, and a movement to pass on the techniques has emerged once again. Crafter Akane Adachi aims to make tableware that is casual, everyday, and close to the heart, while making use of her stoneware techniques.
