Beautiful Art Deco style painting

The retro-modern painting is attractive and has a somewhat nostalgic feel. The three-dimensional and elegant painting on the rim enhances the food you serve and creates a gorgeous dining table.

A plate by Adachi no Potari with a lovely retro-modern floral pattern.

“Finger drawing” conveys warmth

I use a technique called yubi-gaki, in which I apply clay to my fingertips and draw petal patterns. The fingertips are used as brushes to create a gentle and soft texture.

More graceful with Itchin technique

Itchin technique involves filling a rubber dropper with makeup soil and drawing raised lines. Since it is three-dimensional, it creates a beautiful depth of decoration and creates a wonderful space.

Adachi No Potari's fine stoneware plates will brighten up your dining table with finger-drawn patterns and textures.

Slow and elegant tea time

When you put cream puffs, roll cakes, madeleines, etc. on it, both the sweets and the plate will look beautiful and you will fall in love with it. It's also cute to put cookies, baked goods, and sweet bread on top.

Because each item is handmade, there may be individual differences in color, shape, size, weight, uneven glaze/glaze pools, and subtle differences in pattern. In addition, there may be differences in the degree of glaze application, fading, pinholes, and iron powder (sunspots), but this does not cause any problems with use. Please enjoy the unique expression that can only be achieved by handmade products. Although you cannot choose which item you receive, we hope that you will look forward to receiving it. If you are interested, please feel free to contact us before shipping and we will email you a separate photo.

adachino pottery|ADACHI Akane
Born and raised in Asahi City, Chiba Prefecture
2004 Graduated from Tokyo Kasei University, Faculty of Home Economics, Department of Fine Arts
2006 Graduated from Tajimi City Design Institute
From 2006

While working at a Mino ware manufacturer, an art museum, a trading company, etc., I searched for ways to make pottery that I could do.
When I graduated from the Design Institute, I was invited to join the Fine Stoneware Research Group.
I fell in love with the unique color tone of fine stoneware and the depth of decoration with clay, which continues to this day.

Fine stoneware
Seiseki is a type of pottery made from unused yellow clay produced in the Mino region of Gifu Prefecture in the early Showa period. At that time, white clay was considered to be of high quality, and the large quantities of loess that could be extracted remained unused. However, the pottery and the Gifu Prefectural Ceramics Experiment Station cooperated in research and development, and around 1935, manufacturing and decoration techniques were developed. It was completed. White makeup clay is applied over a soft, light yellow base that is as fine as porcelain, and by layering decorations such as decoration, coloring, and painting, it is finished with an elegant, beautiful, and refined texture.

Understanding about “Utsuwa”
〇As each item is handmade, there may be individual differences in color, shape, pattern, size, thickness, weight, etc. Also, even with the same glaze or clay, uneven colors and shading will appear.
〇As each piece is hand-painted, the expression may vary.
〇Due to the manufacturing process, small holes, small black spots, line scratches, protrusions, pinholes, wobbles, and distortions may be seen depending on the product.
〇Product images are processed to be as close to the actual color as possible, but the color and texture may appear different depending on the display screen of your computer or smartphone.
〇At our store, we deliver products that have not only been inspected by the manufacturer, pottery, and artist, but also passed a final inspection at our store.
〇Product photos are sample photos, so the items you receive will not be the same in every detail.
〇We do not accept returns or exchanges due to customer convenience. Please understand and understand this before purchasing.
〇We would be happy if you could enjoy the ``taste'' and ``interest'' that are unique to handmade products that cannot be found in factory mass-produced products!
