Collection: ENOKIDA Wakaba Enokidagama
This kiln, with over 80 years of history, is a long-established pottery studio located in Mashiko, Tochigi Prefecture. Deeply rooted in the use of Mashiko’s local “clay” and “glazes,” the studio is now run by the fourth-generation potter, Katsuhiko, along with the fifth-generation couple, Satoshi and Wakaba, who continue to create pottery every day.
As their pieces are meant for daily use, functionality is always their top priority. At the same time, they strive to blend tradition with a modern sensibility in their work.
Wakaba once said, “I love the natural colors of Mashiko and the earthy brown of traditional ame glaze, and I try to incorporate them into my designs.” True to her words, their Mashiko ware evokes a sense of warmth and nostalgia, quietly resonating with the heart.
