The moment you pick up these pottery pieces, they make your heart warm. Ms.Sato Makiko's pieces convey this kindness and warmth. We spoke to Ms. Sato, whose work will be available in our store for the first time.

" When I applied to art university, I wanted to study in a department that dealt with three-dimensional objects, but the reason I ultimately chose ceramics was really just because," says Ms. Sato.
Pottery is not just about creating a shape, but about the meeting of clay and glaze, and the fire leading to completion. While "waiting," you think deeply, and through trial and error, you continue to search for the best shape. He felt that this slow process suited his easy-going personality.
We want to deliver pottery that will gently fit into the lives of those who use it, and make them feel a little happy every time they pick it up... With this thought in mind, we create our pottery every day in our studio in Tsuchiura City, Ibaraki Prefecture.

The landscapes that Ms. Sato sees every day are at the root of her style. The silhouettes of trees in forests and mountains, the shadows cast on buildings. The tranquility and subtle beauty of nature are softly expressed in the patterns and forms.
The glaze that creates the soft texture was finally perfected after repeated blending. The delicate patterns created using masking tape and the overlapping glazes create a moderately matte, softly bleeding texture. Each piece blends gently into the daily life of the user, adding color to the life of the person who uses it.

When you take them out of the shelf, when you place them on the dining table, while you are using them, and even after you have used them, these are the kind of dishes that suddenly bring a warmth to your heart. These warm and inviting pieces are all meant to make your daily moments more enjoyable.
