Something that lights up in your heart - Minami Nonomura -

The taste is not too sweet, and it has a sparkling feeling as if a soft light is hitting just that spot. The rich beauty that captivates you down to the smallest detail will make you sigh. We spoke to the creator, Ms. Minami Nonomura, about the production process.

"When I come across something cute, it's like a light has lit up in my heart and I feel warm and fuzzy. I aim to create something that can soothe you when you touch it in the midst of your busy daily life," says Nonomura san.

Although she is said to be inspired by many things, including William Morris and old murals, each of her brooches has a strong sense of originality and a sense of calm. Of course, I would like to wear them, but even if I just take them out of my favorite treasure box and look at them, they are all likely to lift my spirits.

"I aim to create the unique presence that antiques and old things have. I also like botanical art, so I use it as inspiration for floral patterns. I start by drawing illustrations, then I draw several and when I think one would be good for a brooch, I make it into a three-dimensional shape out of clay."

This piece is called "The Bullfinch Bringing Spring". The body has a flower relief. It is glazed with a greenish, slightly light gray color.

The pattern is created using a technique called "ink-filled crazing," in which ink is poured into the crazing. The crazing is left behind when the glaze shrinks during firing, so no two pieces are the same. It is truly one of a kind.

Gold paint is used elegantly to create an antique, classic atmosphere.

As it is Christmas time, we asked for many designs that will make winter more enjoyable. They will be perfect for adding a lovely outfit.

She majored in crafts at university and experienced lacquer, metal engraving, dyeing and weaving, and pottery, and decided to pursue pottery after realizing that clay, a relaxed material, suited her. "I create because I want to continue to feel excited and thrilled," says Nonomura san.

She is fascinated by the texture and colour of pottery, especially glazes, and enjoys searching for new colours and textures. When something new emerges from the kiln by chance, he is so moved that it takes his breath away.

I create pottery every day with the hope of conveying the emotions I felt at that moment.
