Gentle and comforting for your dining table
Layers of soft color, as if gently painted with watercolors. The smoky colors and original matte glaze create a fascinating, softly blurred appearance within the calm tones. There is a sense of kindness that radiates from them—something nostalgic that helps you take a deep breath and relax.
Because of their simple forms, the combinations of color created by the layering of glazes and the slight variations from handcrafting are striking. The gentleness that remains in the traces of handmade work is felt precisely because they are not overly perfected. Every time you use them, you can discover a unique landscape in each piece of pottery.
While they blend seamlessly into your daily table, they make everyday meals feel just a little bit special. Whether it's breakfast bread, seasonal fruit, or dinner side dishes, they also look beautiful when served directly to guests. They not only brighten up your table, but also have an appearance that makes you want to keep them on display in your cupboard as a part of your lifestyle even when not in use.
The time spent waiting for a meal to be ready, the moment you lift the lid, the casual conversations shared over the steam—every single one of these moments transforms an ordinary meal into an irreplaceable experience. This handmade earthenware pot, which retains the gentle warmth of the soil, quietly enriches those moments—savoring the seasons and sharing a meal with someone special.
As each piece is handmade, there are individual differences in color, shape, thickness, size, weight, glaze unevenness or pooling, stone pops, slight wobbles, and subtle variations in patterns or motifs. You may also notice differences in how the glaze is applied, crazing, pinholes, or iron specks (black spots), but these do not affect usage. Please enjoy these as the unique characteristics of handmade work. We cannot let you choose which specific piece you will receive, but we hope you look forward to its arrival. If you are concerned, please contact us before shipping and we will be happy to email you photos.

Recommended care and precautions from Mami Furukawa
〇 For earthenware pots and heat-resistant ceramics, please perform "medome" (seasoning) before the first use. 〇 To perform medome, cook porridge or boil water with a small amount of rice in it. The key is to use low heat and be careful not to burn it. 〇 Leaving moisture in the pot after washing can cause mold, so please dry it thoroughly before storing. 〇 We hope you enjoy the way the piece gradually acquires more character as you continue to use it.
Understanding "Utsuwa" (Pottery)
〇 Because each piece is handmade, individual differences occur in color, shape, pattern, size, thickness, and weight. Even with the same glaze and clay, color unevenness and shading will occur. 〇 As the painted designs are also hand-painted one by one, their expressions may vary. 〇 Depending on the product, small holes, small black spots, linear scratches, bumps, pinholes, wobbles, or warping may be visible due to the manufacturing process. 〇 We have processed the product images to be as close to the actual colors as possible, but colors and textures may look different depending on your computer or smartphone display screen. 〇 In addition to inspections by the manufacturer, kilns, and artists, we deliver items that have cleared our own final inspections. 〇 Product photos are samples; the item you receive will not be identical in every detail. 〇 We do not accept returns or exchanges for customer convenience. Please understand and agree to this before purchasing. 〇 We hope you enjoy the "charm" and "interest" unique to handmade items that cannot be found in mass-produced factory goods!
