It's as if it's gently speaking to your heart.

A nostalgic feeling, like you've met it somewhere before, yet with a subtly unique presence. From the moment your eyes meet, ponpoco possesses a charm that quietly draws you in. Its round form, soft demeanor, and a touch of humor. When you touch it, a warmth gently spreads, as if responding to your feelings.

Ryoko Horie's pocochoco

It began as a small mushroom. From there, ponpoco gradually transformed, growing into an entity that resides in a corner of someone's life. Like a rounded pebble, it carries the gentleness that only something that has accumulated time can possess, and a somehow nostalgic aura. That memory-like sensation is gently enclosed within it.

Tiny parts, no bigger than a grain of rice, are made with fingertips. Each layer is carefully stacked, and this process is reflected in its expressions and gestures, imbuing each piece with a unique "personality." The texture that smoothly fits in your hand, and the deep expressions created by multiple layers of glaze. All of these shape its existence not just as a mere vessel or object, but as a "vessel for touching and connecting with the heart."

Just placing it gently on a shelf softens the space, and at an unexpected moment, your eyes meet and your heart unwinds. Even in busy days, you might find yourself wanting to pet it or whisper to it. Life with ponpoco nearby is filled with quiet gentleness and a little playfulness. Before you know it, your everyday life might become a little more precious.

As each item is handmade, there may be individual differences in color, shape, thickness, size, weight, glaze unevenness, glaze drips, glaze pooling, slight wobbles, patterns, and expressions. Also, there may be differences in how the glaze is applied, as well as crazing, pinholes, and iron spots (black dots), but these do not affect usability. Please enjoy them as unique expressions of handmade craftsmanship. We cannot guarantee which specific item you will receive, but we hope you will look forward to its arrival. If you are concerned, please feel free to contact us before shipping, and we will email you additional photos.

Ryoko Horie's Recommended Care Instructions and Precautions
〇When first using, soak in rice water (or plain water if time is limited) overnight, then dry thoroughly in a well-ventilated area before use.

 Understanding "Utsuwa" (Ceramic Vessels)
〇Since each item is handmade, there may be individual differences in color, shape, pattern, size, thickness, and weight. Also, even with the same glaze and clay, there may be color unevenness and variations in shade.
〇As each piece is hand-painted, the expressions may vary.
〇Depending on the product and manufacturing process, small holes, small black spots, hairline scratches, protrusions, pinholes, wobbles, and distortions may be observed.
〇While we strive to process product images to be as close to the actual color as possible, the color and texture may appear differently depending on the display screen of your computer or smartphone.
〇We deliver items that have passed not only inspections by the manufacturer, kiln, and artist, but also our final inspection.
〇Product photos are samples, so the actual item delivered will not be identical in every detail.
〇We do not accept returns or exchanges due to customer preferences. We ask for your understanding and acceptance before making a purchase.
〇We hope you will enjoy the "flavor" and "interest" unique to handmade items, which are not found in mass-produced factory goods!
