Earthenware pots from Iga-yaki Haseen that add color to your dining table in winter

Coarse clay from Iga suitable for clay pots

About 4 million years ago, the Iga region is said to have been the bottom of Lake Biwa. Since the ancient Biwako layer contains many remains of living things and plants, when this pottery clay is fired at a high temperature, the remains are burned out and many fine pores are created. It retains heat well, and even after it is removed from the heat, it maintains the same state as a slow fire, so the taste permeates the food and increases its deliciousness.

Iga ware
It is a pottery that is fired around Iga City, Mie Prefecture. The porcelain clay produced in the Paleo-Lake Lake layer contains many remains of animals and plants that lived 4 million years ago. can. The porous fabric with pores is so coarse that it is called "breathing soil". The fine pores store heat, so the far-infrared effect is high and the heat penetrates to the core of the ingredients. Iga ware has a long history, and is said to have started around 1,300 years ago in the Nara period. From the end of the Muromachi period, when the tea ceremony was popular, to the Azuchi-Momoyama period, tea bowls and flower vases were made, and the Iga ware of this period is called "Koiga". The characteristics of Ko-Iga include wavy patterns made with a spatula, grid-like stamped patterns, scarlet, charred, cracked mountain cracks, and a uniquely beautiful green vidro.

〇 Depending on the product, there may be small holes, small black dots, line scratches, protrusions, pinholes, rattling, or distortion due to the manufacturing process.
〇 We have processed the image of the product so that the color is as close to the real thing as possible, but the color and texture may look different depending on the display screen of your computer or smartphone.

〇 We would be happy if you could enjoy the “taste” and “interest” of handmade products that are not found in factory mass-produced products!
