Humor in Everyday Life

The Yeti, said to inhabit the Himalayan mountains, is depicted with an endearing expression that naturally brings a smile to your face. With its open mouth, there's a mysterious charm that can't simply be described as cute. The creator's wish to bring "humor" into daily life is embodied in this adorable piece.

加藤美紀子さんのイエティ取皿

Its form evokes the spirit of ancient clay figurines and Oriental ornamentation. There's an inexplicable humor inherent in the animal figures created by ancient peoples. The beauty that arises from imperfection quietly breathes life into this Yeti.

The soft, faded painting resembles a woodblock print or a rubber stamp. The creator mentioned observing the gestures of animals at a bear ranch tirelessly. This piece holds the distinct warmth that only comes from careful observation. Even in its slightly goofy expression, there's a hint of life.

Whether serving sweet treats or pouring a steaming beverage, simply having it on your table turns ordinary moments into something a little more whimsical. You admire it, use it, and your eyes meet again. Before you know it, it gently soothes your heart in everyday life.

Each item is handmade, so there may be individual differences in color, shape, thickness, size, weight, glaze unevenness/pooling, stone bursts, slight wobbles, and subtle variations in patterns. Also, some items may have variations in glaze application, crazing, pinholes, or iron spots (black dots), but these do not affect usability. Please enjoy them as unique expressions of handmade craftsmanship. We cannot guarantee which specific item you will receive, but we hope you look forward to its arrival. Recommended Care and Precautions from Mikiko Kato
〇 The pieces have been sealed, so they are ready for immediate use.
〇 Due to the nature of the material, "kohiki" (powdered clay) ceramics are composed of three layers – clay, slip, and glaze – making them prone to chipping. Please be careful not to bump the rim when handling.

 Understanding "Tableware"
〇 Due to being handmade one by one, there will be individual differences in color, shape, pattern, size, thickness, and weight. Also, even with the same glaze and clay, there may be color unevenness and variations in shade.
〇 As each pattern is hand-drawn, the expression may vary.
〇 Depending on the product and manufacturing process, small holes, small black dots, hairline scratches, protrusions, pinholes, wobbles, or distortions may be present.
〇 While we process images to be as close to the actual color as possible, the color and texture may appear different depending on your computer or smartphone display.
〇 We deliver products that have passed not only the inspections of the manufacturer, kiln, and artist, but also our final inspection.
〇 Product photos are samples, so the actual item you receive will not be identical in every detail.
〇 We do not accept returns or exchanges due to customer preferences. Please understand and acknowledge this before purchasing.
〇 We hope you enjoy the "flavor" and "interest" unique to handmade items, which are not found in mass-produced factory goods!
