A little story for your daily life
These charming vessels transport you to a delightful world, as if they've stepped right out of a picture book. Animals and flowers, looking as if they could spring to life at any moment, are freely depicted across each piece, warming your heart just by gazing at them. Each piece boasts a unique expression, showcasing the lovable charm of handcrafted artistry.
All patterns are drawn freehand. Embracing this natural fluidity, the artist independently arrived at the traditional "kakiotoshi" (sgraffito) technique, without even knowing its name, and refined it into a unique form of expression. The warmth of this handicraft becomes the very character of the works, creating a profound charm.
After experimenting with various clays, the artist chose Mashiko clay, which provides the desired texture. White clay, black clay, and blended clays are selectively used according to the image of each piece, creating gentle and profound expressions. Contrary to their rustic appearance, the pieces are crafted to be remarkably thin and light, surprising you with their lightness the moment you pick them up. In addition to being conveniently easy to use daily, they are also microwave-safe for reheating, which is a welcome bonus.
From serving your favorite snacks to daily breakfast or tea time. Even ordinary moments transform into slightly special, rewarding times simply by arranging food on these pieces. These vessels will become cherished companions in your daily life, making you reach for them more often, thinking, "Today, I'll use this piece."
As each piece is handmade, there will be individual differences in color, shape, thickness, size, weight, glaze unevenness/pooling, stone inclusions, slight wobbling, and subtle variations in patterns. Additionally, some pieces may have variations in glaze application, crazing, pinholes, or iron spots (black dots), but these do not affect their use. Please enjoy these unique expressions that are characteristic of handcrafted items. While you cannot choose which specific item you receive, we hope you look forward to its arrival.
