A little bit of happiness
When making her pottery, she tries to imagine the person who will use it. Makiko Sato says that her pottery is not only easy to use, but also makes you feel happy when you put it away on the shelf or take it out. Just looking at it makes you smile and feels warm and relaxed.

The greens and browns are characterized by their calm and soft texture. The patterns are inspired by forest and mountain scenery and the shapes of the shadows of buildings. The quiet, soft colors and warm texture give a sense of comfort, like being enveloped in the scent of the forest.

The designs are created by applying different glazes with masking tape. The glazes used were selected after testing many different mixtures, so they match the style of the piece and are very cute. In addition, the overlapping glazes are designed to create a moderately matte, slightly blurred texture, giving the piece a unique expression and warmth that can only be achieved through handcrafting.

Perfect for taking a break, enjoying tea time with friends or family, reading or watching a movie, or just relaxing while working at your desk. This mug will make your everyday fun moments even happier.

Because each piece is handmade, there may be individual differences in color, shape, thickness, size, weight, uneven glaze, glaze pools, slight wobble, patterns, and designs. Also, there may be differences in the amount of glaze applied, crazing, pinholes, or iron powder (black spots), but this does not affect the use of the item. Please enjoy the unique expressions that can only be achieved through handmade products. You cannot choose which item you will receive, but we hope you will look forward to receiving it. If you are interested, please contact us before shipping and we will email you a photo separately.

Recommended care methods and precautions from Makiko Sato |
* There is no need to seal the porcelain before first use, but if you plan to put coffee or other dark-colored items in it, rinsing it quickly with water before use will help prevent the color from seeping in. * If you use a dishwasher, dishes may come into contact with each other during washing, which can cause chips or cracks, so we recommend washing by hand as much as possible. |
Understanding of "Utsuwa" |
*Because each piece is handmade, there will be individual differences in color, shape, pattern, size, thickness, weight, etc. Also, even with the same glaze and clay, there will be uneven color and shading. *Each piece is hand painted, so the expression may vary. Depending on the product, small holes, small black spots, scratches, protrusions, pinholes, rattling, and distortions may be found due to the manufacturing process. *We process the product images to make them as close to the actual colors as possible, but the colors and textures may appear different depending on the display screen of your computer or smartphone. *In addition to inspection by the manufacturer, kiln, and artist, we only deliver products that have passed final inspection at our store. *The product photos are sample shots, so the items you receive will not be identical in every detail. * We do not accept returns or exchanges due to customer convenience. Please understand and agree before making a purchase. We hope you enjoy the unique "flavor" and "interestingness" that can only come from something handmade, not mass-produced in a factory! |
