Enjoy good times through pottery
She creates her pottery with the hope that her tableware can help bring a little joy to everyday life. Having such elegant tableware on the dining table every day can turn ordinary everyday moments into special ones.
The interplay between utility and beauty
I believe that the appeal of pottery is the interplay between utility and beauty, and I create my pieces with this in mind. These wonderful pieces embody utility and beauty, combining eye-catching, beautiful decoration with a comfortable fit for everyday use.
Delicate and elegant painting
The beautiful brushwork is captivating just to look at. The soft, intricate lines express the emotion of the flowers.
Like earth
The slightly rough texture is unique to earthenware. The glaze was mixed through trial and error to create a white color that is not inorganic, but has depth and softness befitting earth. The texture is earthy and soothing.
Since each piece is handmade, there are individual differences in color, shape, size, weight, thickness, uneven glaze, and subtle differences in patterns and designs. Also, some pieces may have differences in the amount of glaze applied, pinholes, or iron powder (black spots), but this does not affect their use. Please enjoy them as they are unique expressions that can only be achieved through handmade products. You cannot choose which item you will receive, but we hope you will look forward to receiving it. If you are interested, please contact us before shipping and we will email you a photo.

Sanae Higuchi's recommended care methods and precautions |
*You can use it without sealing the pores before first use, but if you are concerned about oil or juice seeping in, we recommend sealing the pores before use. *Due to the characteristics of the material, it is easily stained by dark colors such as tea stains and soy sauce. If it bothers you, you can remove it easily by soaking it in a diluted solution of kitchen bleach. Also, if you leave it in a damp state for several days, it may become moldy, so after use, drain the water and dry it thoroughly before storing it. If mold does appear, please remove it using the method mentioned above. *Please rest assured that the design will not discolor or fade when using kitchen bleach. |
Understanding of "Utsuwa" |
*Because each piece is handmade, there will be individual differences in color, shape, pattern, size, thickness, weight, etc. Also, even with the same glaze and clay, there will be uneven color and shading. *Each piece is hand painted, so the expression may vary. Depending on the product, small holes, small black spots, scratches, protrusions, pinholes, rattling, and distortions may be found due to the manufacturing process. *We process the product images to make them as close to the actual colors as possible, but the colors and textures may appear different depending on the display screen of your computer or smartphone. *In addition to inspection by the manufacturer, kiln, and artist, we only deliver products that have passed final inspection at our store. *The product photos are sample shots, so the items you receive will not be identical in every detail. * We do not accept returns or exchanges due to customer convenience. Please understand and agree before making a purchase. We hope you enjoy the unique "flavor" and "interestingness" that can only come from something handmade, not mass-produced in a factory! |
