Overlapping tradition and modern sensibilities
Tobe's porcelain clay is rich in iron. Four types of porcelain clay are used: white clay, rough clay, red clay, and regular clay. The texture and atmosphere that emerges from this Tobe clay are carefully considered as they are crafted every day.

The ware is mainly made using three techniques: potter's wheel, tatara, and mold-making. The tasteful designs, patterns, and colorful use of color are inspired by old Japanese patterns as well as textiles and tiles from overseas. The well-balanced blend of the good old Tobe ware style and modern essence is captivating.

The kiln name is Satsukigama, as the kiln opens in May. The kiln mark also has a cute "5" on it.

It will brighten up your dining table and make your food look even more delicious when served on it.

Because each piece is handmade, there will be individual differences in color, shape, thickness, size, weight, uneven glaze, glaze pools, stone cracks, slight wobble, and patterns and designs. Also, some pieces may have variations in the glaze application, crazing, pinholes, or iron powder (black spots), but this does not affect their usability. Please enjoy the unique features that only a handmade piece can offer. While you cannot choose which item you will receive, we hope you will look forward to receiving it. If you have any concerns, please contact us before shipping and we will email you a photo.

*Since it is porcelain clay, it does not absorb moisture, so there is no need to seal it. * Avoid sudden changes in temperature, such as rapid cooling or heating. For example, taking it out of the microwave and immediately placing it in a cold sink. |
| Understanding of "Utsuwa" |
|
Because each piece is handmade, there will be individual differences in color, shape, pattern, size, thickness, weight, etc. Also, even with the same glaze and clay, there will be uneven color and shading. 〇Since each piece is painted by hand, the expression may vary. Depending on the product, small holes, small black spots, scratches, protrusions, pinholes, rattles, and distortions may be found due to the manufacturing process. 〇We have processed the product images to make them as close to the actual colors as possible, but the colors and textures may appear different depending on the display screen of your computer or smartphone. 〇In addition to inspection by the manufacturer, kiln, and artist, we only deliver products that have passed final inspection at our store. *Product photos are sample shots, so the items you receive may not be identical in every detail. *We do not accept returns or exchanges due to customer convenience. Please understand this before purchasing. We hope you enjoy the unique "flavor" and "interestingness" of handmade products that you won't find in mass-produced products from factories! |
