A soft, deep expression

"We want tableware to always be one step behind the main attraction." When you arrange food or pour a drink, the deliciousness of the food is instantly accentuated. We value the beauty of this "behind the scenes." Modest, yet with a definite presence. This is tableware that subtly enhances the appeal of the food itself every time you pick it up.

Totsu Keiichiro's Kohiki chamfered mug

The deep, gentle expression of the Kohiki pottery and the rough yet soft natural beauty of the apple ash pottery. Each piece has its own unique character, yet they all blend seamlessly into everyday life. They are not overly assertive, yet each time you pick one up, you are moved by a small moment. This exquisite balance is something that is cherished.

Because each piece is handmade, there will be individual differences in color, shape, size, thickness, weight, warping, distortion, glaze flow, glaze accumulation, and firing color. Each piece also has its own unique character, including pinholes and iron powder (black spots). Please rest assured that this will not affect its usability. Enjoy the unique features that only a handmade piece can offer. While you cannot choose which item you will receive, we hope you will look forward to receiving it. If you have any concerns, please contact us before shipping and we will email you a photo.

Recommended care methods and precautions from Keiichiro Totsu
*It has been sealed, so please wash it lightly with dish soap before use.
*When using a microwave, sudden temperature changes may cause damage, so we recommend using it only for warming purposes.
〇You can use a dishwasher, but we recommend washing by hand as the water pressure from the dishwasher may cause the dishes to collide with each other, resulting in chips or damage.
After use, please dry thoroughly before storing to prevent mold and stains.

Understanding of "Utsuwa"
Because each piece is handmade, there will be individual differences in color, shape, pattern, size, thickness, weight, etc. Also, even with the same glaze and clay, there will be uneven color and shading.
〇Since each piece is painted by hand, the expression may vary.
Depending on the product, small holes, small black spots, scratches, protrusions, pinholes, rattles, and distortions may be found due to the manufacturing process.
〇We have processed the product images to make them as close to the actual colors as possible, but the colors and textures may appear different depending on the display screen of your computer or smartphone.
〇Our store not only inspects products from manufacturers, kilns, and artists, but also delivers products that have passed final inspection at our store.
*Product photos are sample shots, so the items you receive may not be identical in every detail.
*We do not accept returns or exchanges due to customer convenience. Please understand this before purchasing.
We hope you enjoy the unique "flavor" and "interestingness" of handmade products that you won't find in mass-produced products from factories!
