The grace of flowers and plants
Made with Mashiko clay and glaze, these pottery pieces exude a warmth and deep gentleness, as if they are speaking softly to the heart. Though the colors are quiet and subdued, each piece has a definite presence, and every time you pick one up, your heart will be at peace.

By layering Japanese kimono patterns and good old British wallpaper and fabrics, a unique and beautiful worldview is created. It has a soft Japanese atmosphere, but also a nostalgic and warm Western feel.

After applying black clay to the base, the patterns are carved out one by one with a needle-like tool. The process is carefully crafted, as if spinning a story. The texture that fits gently in the palm of your hand, the beauty created by the intricate patterns, and the warmth that can only be achieved by handwork are conveyed.

The glaze mixing method he learned while studying in England is used to create a lovely color with an indescribable warmth. The plump, moderate thickness and elegant floral pattern gently envelop the viewer, bringing a quiet moisture and peace of mind to their lives.

Because each piece is handmade, there are individual differences in color, shape, size, weight, uneven glaze, glaze pools, and subtle differences in patterns and designs. Also, some pieces may have differences in the amount of glaze applied, pinholes, or iron powder (black spots), but this does not affect their use. Please enjoy the unique expressions that can only be achieved through handmade items. You cannot choose which item you will receive, but we hope you will look forward to receiving it. If you are interested, please contact us before shipping and we will email you a photo.

*We recommend soaking it in water or rinsing water before using it for the first time to seal it so dirt won't get in easily. *After washing, be sure to dry it thoroughly before storing it.
Understanding of "Utsuwa"
*Because each piece is handmade, there will be individual differences in color, shape, pattern, size, thickness, weight, etc. Also, even with the same glaze and clay, there will be uneven color and shading. *Each piece is hand painted, so the expression may vary. Depending on the product, small holes, small black spots, scratches, protrusions, pinholes, rattling, and distortions may be found due to the manufacturing process. *We process the product images to make them as close to the actual colors as possible, but the colors and textures may appear different depending on the display screen of your computer or smartphone. *In addition to inspection by the manufacturer, kiln, and artist, we only deliver products that have passed final inspection at our store. *The product photos are sample shots, so the items you receive will not be identical in every detail. * We do not accept returns or exchanges due to customer convenience. Please understand and agree before making a purchase. We hope you enjoy the unique "flavor" and "interestingness" that can only come from something handmade, not mass-produced in a factory!
