Taste unique to handicrafts

Enokida kiln pottery made using Mashiko soil and traditional glaze. Because each piece is made by hand, the natural fluctuations and flexures in the shape give a sense of taste and depth that cannot be expressed with mass-produced items.

Satoshi Enokida's plate has a lovely rustic texture.

White that conveys the warmth of the earth

A lovely milky white sugar glaze with a rustic and soft texture. In addition, because it is baked using a reduction firing method, it has a richly flavored finish. The iron powder (black spots) that appear when the iron contained in the clay reacts during firing also gives you a sense of the warmth of the clay.

Easy-to-use shape

The depth is approximately 2.7 cm, so you can safely serve even slightly juicy foods. It has a moderate weight and thickness, and a slightly textured rim that makes it easy to hold and use, making it useful.

Great for serving a la carte dishes.

The deep plate is about 15 cm in diameter, so it is perfect for serving juicy fried tofu, boiled eggplant, stewed pumpkin, potato salad, etc. It's also a good idea to put Japanese sweets such as Kuzukiri and warabi mochi on top.

Satoshi Enokida's utensils will enrich your dining table.

Because each piece is handmade, there are individual differences in color, shape, size, weight, glaze unevenness, glaze pools, and glaze shrinkage. In addition, there may be differences in the degree of glaze application, fading, pinholes, and iron powder (sunspots), but this does not cause any problems with use. Please enjoy the unique expression that can only be achieved by handmade products. Although you cannot choose which item you receive, we hope that you will look forward to receiving it. If you are interested, please feel free to contact us before shipping and we will email you a separate photo.
