It's as if it's gently speaking to your heart
ponpoco possesses a charm that quietly enters your heart from the moment your eyes meet, with a nostalgia like something you've encountered before, yet a slightly mysterious presence. Its round shape, soft demeanor, and a touch of humor. When you touch it, a warmth gently spreads, as if responding to your feelings.
It began as a small mushroom. From there, ponpoco gradually transformed, growing into a being that resides in a corner of someone's life. Like a smooth pebble, it carries the gentleness that only things that have accumulated time possess, and a hint of nostalgia. That memory-like sensation is gently enclosed within it.
Tiny parts, no larger than a grain of rice, are formed by fingertips. Each carefully layered process manifests in expressions and gestures, imbuing them with unique "personalities." The moist texture that fits comfortably in the hand, and the deep expressions created by multiple layers of glaze. All of these shape ponpoco not merely as a vessel or an object, but as a "vessel for touching and communicating with the heart."
Just by placing it gently on a shelf, the space softens, and in a fleeting moment, your eyes meet and your heart unwinds. Even in busy days, you might find yourself wanting to stroke it or whisper to it. Life with ponpoco nearby is filled with quiet gentleness and a little playfulness. As each item is handmade, there may be individual differences in color, shape, thickness, size, weight, glaze unevenness, glaze drips, glaze pools, slight wobbles, patterns, and expressions. In addition, some items may have variations in glaze application, crazing, pinholes, or iron spots (black dots), but these do not affect their use. Please enjoy them as unique expressions of handmade craftsmanship. We cannot choose which item you will receive, but we hope you will look forward to its arrival.
