I was enchanted by the lace pattern.
The French Lace series was inspired by antique French lace. The matte white surface is reminiscent of European plaster sculptures. The lace pattern is raised to create an indescribable elegance, and the gentle wavy shape of the rim further enhances the antique feel.
Add a stylish touch to your dining table
With a diameter of about 23 cm, it is the perfect size and design for one-plate Western dishes such as pasta, omelet rice, and French toast. It is also recommended for sandwiches, canapes, and fruit platters that can be shared by everyone.
Perfect for everyday use
The size is just right for a one-plate meal including a fish or meat main dish, salad, or side dish, so you can enjoy arranging the food while taking into account the color and balance, and have a wonderful time.
Matching matte white dishes will create an elegant space. Matching with gray dishes will also create a sense of rhythm. Arranging elegant French lace will create a wonderful atmosphere on the dining table.

Wakasama Pottery creates pottery that becomes a "container" that stores precious time as it is used. It is Mashiko ware with a warmth that is made in harmony with nature in a workshop surrounded by nature.
Due to the delicate pattern, each item is different. The degree of glaze applied will affect the color of the baked product, pinholes, and other aspects of each product. Please be aware that this is a characteristic of handmade products.
Basically, we will leave it up to our store to decide which item you will receive. We hope you will look forward to receiving it. If you are interested, please feel free to contact us and we will send you a photo separately before shipping.
Because each piece is handmade, there are individual differences in color, shape, size, weight, uneven glaze, glaze pools, firing color, and subtle differences in patterns and designs. Also, some pieces may have differences in the amount of glaze applied, pinholes, or iron powder (black spots), but this does not affect their use. Please enjoy the unique expressions that can only be achieved through handmade items. You cannot choose which item you will receive, but we hope you will look forward to receiving it. If you are interested, please contact us before shipping and we will email you a photo.

Recommended maintenance methods and precautions from Wakasama Ceramics |
*Please soak in water for 1-2 hours before first use. There is no need to boil the vessel or soak it in rice water. *The original texture of the pottery is preserved. If the rim (where the mouth touches) or base (the part at the bottom) of the cup feels rough and bothers you, please lightly polish it with fine sandpaper (#120 or higher) before using. |
Understanding of "Utsuwa" |
*Because each piece is handmade, there will be individual differences in color, shape, pattern, size, thickness, weight, etc. Also, even with the same glaze and clay, there will be uneven color and shading. *Each piece is hand painted, so the expression may vary. Depending on the product, small holes, small black spots, scratches, protrusions, pinholes, rattling, and distortions may be found due to the manufacturing process. *We process the product images to make them as close to the actual colors as possible, but the colors and textures may appear different depending on the display screen of your computer or smartphone. *In addition to inspection by the manufacturer, kiln, and artist, we only deliver products that have passed final inspection at our store. *The product photos are sample shots, so the items you receive will not be identical in every detail. * We do not accept returns or exchanges due to customer convenience. Please understand and agree before making a purchase. We hope you enjoy the unique "flavor" and "interestingness" that can only come from something handmade, not mass-produced in a factory! |
