A cup that feels the warmth of handmade
Carefully crafted shinogi and soft ivory color. The surface has a moist and matte texture, and you can feel the gentleness of handwork.
Easy to hold and use
The width of the handle is about 1.5 cm, and the center line is slightly recessed, so it is very easy to hold without wobbling even if you hold it with one hand.
Storage that looks great
A cute design with a handle on the top. It can be stacked, so it is easy to store in the cupboard. You can also enjoy it as a storage that looks good as a kitchen or room interior with a gentle form.
For mugs, soup cups and fruit bowls
The caliber is about 10.5 cm wide, so it goes well with a warm drink at a leisurely time, as well as a soup cup full of vegetables. A versatile cup that can be used in a variety of situations, such as serving yogurt with fresh cut fruit and cereal.
Wakasama Tougei's items are made into pottery that become "containers" that can store a lot of precious time as they are used. Warm Mashiko ware made in harmony with nature in a workshop in the great outdoors.
Because each item is handmade, there are individual differences such as color, shape, size, weight, glaze unevenness, glaze pooling, baked color, and subtle differences in patterns. In addition, there may be differences in the degree of glaze, pinholes, and iron powder (black spots), but there is no problem with use. Please enjoy it as a unique expression unique to handmade. You can't choose which item you receive, but we hope you'll look forward to it until it arrives. If you are interested, please contact us before shipping and we will email you a photo.

Recommended maintenance method from Wakasama Pottery |
〇For the first time only, soak in water for 1-2 hours before using. There is no need to boil the vessel or soak it in rice water. 〇We have left the original texture of the pottery. If the rim of the cup (the part that touches the mouth) or the base (the bottom part) is rough and you are concerned about it, lightly polish it with fine sandpaper (#120 or higher) before using. |
Understanding of "Utsuwa" |
〇Because each product is handmade, there may be individual differences in color, shape, pattern, size, thickness, weight, etc. Also, even with the same glaze and clay, uneven colors and shading will appear. 〇Because the painting is also hand-painted one by one, the expression may differ. 〇 Depending on the product, there may be small holes, small black dots, line scratches, protrusions, pinholes, rattling, or distortion due to the manufacturing process. 〇 We have processed the image of the product so that the color is as close to the real thing as possible, but the color and texture may look different depending on the display screen of your computer or smartphone. 〇In our shop, we not only inspect the manufacturer, pottery, and artist, but also deliver products that have passed the final inspection at our store. 〇 Product photos are sample shots, so the items you receive will not be the same in detail. 〇 We do not accept returns or exchanges due to customer's convenience. Please purchase after understanding and acknowledging this. 〇 We would be happy if you could enjoy the “taste” and “interest” of handmade products that are not found in factory mass-produced products! |
