The soft patterns unique to washi dyeing
A cute hippopotamus design. It is made using a technique called "washi dyeing," in which the design is drawn on washi paper, cut out, and pasted onto the base material to transfer the color. The soft, blurred look is lovely and comforting.

The overall plate has a smooth and gentle texture. The rust color of the rim has a deep shade and smudge, which enhances the white plate. The little bird on the hippopotamus' back and the washi-dyed bird on the back of the plate are also very appealing.
